What are your top 1-3 business challenges?

As a small non profit, my top 3 business challenges are: 1. Donation base: As a Center for Independent Living serving people of all ages and disabilities, I find that people like to donate to a specific cause (ie. autism) rather than support the entire disability base; 2. This also translates to inconsistent grant funding; and 3. Getting the word out to the general population with the services we provide.

Interesting! I have donated time with a few local non-profits and suggested they segment their target and make it understood why and how they are different. Grant funding is a difficult task! I suggested two of the non-profits to take some of their admin dollars and invest in a professional grant writer. Some times you need to spend a little to get a better result. You may even get a grant writer that believe in your cause to work for little or no dollars. I helped the local non-profits utilize PSA's on TV, radio, newspapers and the local news stations. Google also has a Grant program that allows qualified 501- c organizations to receive thousands in Google advertising.
