How We Got Started
Watching business owners rack up huge accounts receivable, we thought that there must be a better way! ... No one likes "paperwork" so we began thinking of how we could help businesses across America to simplify and consolidate business processes and services. Things like credit card acceptance, POS systems, employee time management, scheduling, cash register functions, sales tax calculation,cash flow management and more is so much easier to to do with the systems we have available today! ... Having owned > 20 successful small to medium sized business over the last decades, we know a thing or 10 about how to help maximize profits. Having time and money at the same time is a good thing, right?

Overall, most Secretary of State offices have great websites where you can learn the rules about this for your state. Specifically:
1) Best advice is to hire an attorney who specializes in small business matters. There are a number of considerations and important extra things that need to be done that a DIY-er might miss.
2) In particular, the creation of an Operating Agreement. Think of this like a "will" for your LLC. " What happens 'if' ... "
3) Unless you're a large organization, make yourself the "Resident Agent" and take personal responsibility for Annual Reports. Don't leave this important step up to an attorney or accountant. They get busy and can forget, which can cause the forfeiture of your legal entity.
4) Know whether your state requires registration of a "fictitious name" and the rules around the need to register this in addition to the LLC ...
While having an LLC requires the submittal of an additional tax return every year, the cost of having a CPA firm do this is overshadowed by the tax savings if (in one calculation I saw recently) your company earns a PROFIT of >$10k per year.
