Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a 3-dimensional web from head to foot without interruption. Trauma, posture, or inflammation can cause fascial restrictions creating excessive pressure on pain sensitive structures in the body. Fascial restrictions do not show up on x-rays, MRI's, CT scans, or electromyograms. It is thought a high percentage of people suffering from pain and lack of motion may be having fascial problems, but most go undiagnosed.
