Find yourself a good pro bono attorney to get your non-profit set up. Many of our countries large law firms have Pro Bono Managers.  Ask other non-profits which pro bono lawyer/law firm they used.  Then contact that lawyer and/or the pro bono manager.  Of course, there is a cost to get a non-profit set up - although minimal state fees, the IRS fee for the 501c3 application is $600 now.  Do some easy fundraisers to raise this money.  Once your non-profit is established start locating sponsors.  Also do some research into how other non-profits that travel overseas handle the travel costs.  Check and see if any of the airlines etc. offer discounts for 501c3 organizations.
