When inmates start singing, bebopping, and thumping out rhythms on the tables, it’s about the only time I see them smiling, laughing, and actually looking happy, even if it’s just for a few brief minutes. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, the whole atmosphere shifts.
There’s definitely something powerful — almost magical — about rhythm and music. Thanks for the work you’re doing in that space.
