BambooHR conducted a study that found employee satisfaction has hit a four-year low. Now, consider that the pandemic was included in that four-year period, and you can see how this is significant.
Employee satisfaction was a full 10% lower at the end of last year than nine months into the pandemic.Employees at non-profits were among some of the least satisfied, and construction workers were consistently the happiest in their jobs!
57% of employees experienced at least moderate levels of burnout.
48% said they are confident that their employers care about them.
I'd love to hear about your experiences navigating this challenge as an employee or an employer.

Yesterday, the DOL put new overtime rules into effect. This set new salary thresholds for determining which employees were exempt from overtime, estimated to impact roughly 4 million US employees. Here is the breakdown:
The salary threshold for exempt executive, administrative, and professional (EAP) employees will jump from $35,568 to $58,656 annually, phased in with an initial increase to $43,888 on July 1, 2024, and a second increase on January 1, 2025.
The threshold for highly compensated employeeswill also rise in two steps from $107,432 to $151,164 annually.
The update also automatically updates the salary threshold every three years starting 1 July 2027 to account for inflation. How will you prepare for this change?

How many of you are currently working a part-time job? Whether it is a side hustle or a little something stable to help cover the bills while you grow a business, it looks like there is a growing trend of part-time work.
According to research done by payroll giant ADP, we are creeping toward more hourly jobs being part-time than full-time. Here is the data they are seeing:
Part-time Employment Increase: From 43% of all hourly jobs in December 2019 to 47% by December 2023.
Do you think this is a disturbing trend, or part of the workforce's natural evolution?
