How We Got Started

After beginning my career in advertising and association management, in 1994 I decided to focus on helping small businesses and nonprofits with their promotional needs. If you weren’t around in the 90s, let’s just say drafting flyers and brochures, and issuing press releases were the mainstay of my business.

Since then, I’ve done a bit of everything in terms of marketing and PR and bring a wealth of experience to my clients. From sharpening community relations campaigns and outreach events to handling crises and creating robust marketing plans and brand strategies that demolish misperceptions and create a strategic future.

Technology has exploded over the years and changed some of the tactical implementation (from flyers to Facebook), but from my experience with industries ranging from restaurants to aerospace and 30 industries in between, no matter how many employees or volunteers, no matter how big or small the budget, the principles of promotion are the same.

I agree with @MarySpencer. You have to start inside then move out. From a marketing perspective, this is getting your product, price, and place clearly defined and aligned before you start your promotion.  (more) I agree with @MarySpencer. It's a great way to expand their reach, round out their brand, and communicate with their audience quickly. BUT, it needs to fit into a larger whole in their marketing scheme.  (more) It's a great way to expand their reach, round out their brand, and communicate with their audience quickly. Nope. There's no reason. People are pretty good about responding to a request for a positive review when you've done a good job. Fake reviews can do more damage if/when your prospective clients find out they aren't real.  (more) Nope. There's no reason. Start with a strong foundation: PRODUCT, PRICE, PLACE, THEN PROMOTION. Define your strategies in these areas before you take to social media. Keep it simple and logical. https://tinyurl.com/smpx2qu7  (more) Start with a strong foundation: PRODUCT, PRICE, PLACE, THEN PROMOTION. Watch your analytics so you know what's working when you use digital tools. The messaging is still more important than the medium.  (more) Watch your analytics so you know what's working when you use digital tools. The messaging is still more important than the medium.
