About Us

I have been providing accounting and tax guidance for over 30 years. I am experienced in working with individuals, business owners, and corporations on multiple levels, and this experience gives me the breadth of knowledge needed to assist clients.

I received my Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. I am a licensed CPA and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant, a designation awarded by the College for Financial Planning.

I am able to focus on providing assistance to individuals and business owners regarding income tax and estate planning strategies, retirement planning strategies (401(k), SEP, ESOP, etc.), as well as helping client families navigate the challenges of aging parents, including health care, living arrangements, and wealth transfer.

How We Got Started

Bought a small practice, grew the business until 2002 and sold the business. Got part of the business back in 2010 and my wife Lisa handled most of the work until the fall of 2016 when I came back into the business full-time.

While bookkeepers and accountants share common goals, they support your business in different stages of the financial cycle. Some big changes on the federal return. MN did not adopt the federal changes so that adds complication to filing your 2018 returns for Minnesotans. Check on what your state did by going to your state department of revenue website. (more) Some big changes on the federal return. No and No but I do not have employees. Lets face it for larger employers, the work still needs to be completed. What would you do if you were the business owner? And no my last name is not Crotchet. Do good work at a fair price and let your happy customers know that you are taking on new clients. Maybe set up a small referral reward system. Offer a small discount to new customers.
