The number one predictor to a person's future happiness is ... EMOTIONAL HEALTH. While I use a variety of different techniques, the main technique I use in my private and group sessions is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) which is also called Tapping.
What is EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques)?
Often referred to as "Psychological Acupressure", EFT/Tapping works by releasing blockages within the energy system that often cause negative emotions or physical pain. These disruptions can cause us stress, anxiety, and other emotional issues but can also result in beliefs we have about who we are (limiting beliefs) that may contribute to lack of confidence, low self- esteem, anxiety, depression, or unusual behaviors. EFT can help discover the root cause of stress (and other emotional challenges) to process and release it from the body. This empowers a person to live a happier, healthier life. The process is fairly simple and, typically, a very young child can become an 'independent tapper' in a short amount of time.
As a former public school math teacher, I am well aware of the challenges many children face with effectively managing their emotions. The number of children struggling with stress and anxiety is at an all-time high and EFT is an extremely effective tool to help children get to the core, subconscious root of their emotional turmoil to actually rewire their brain.
Stress is an underlying component for 85-90% of all sickness so it's also critical for adults to learn effective stress management. While there are many tools to help with this, EFT allows a person to get to the root of the issue so breaking free of stress is possible. EFT allows us to reprogram our emotional brain (limbic system/amygdala) for a new response to different triggers. If the stress is general, EFT can help. But if the stress is caused by a particular thing, EFT is a very valuable way to help a person change their body's response to whatever it is that's causing stress.
*Disclaimer: EFT is NOT a replacement for medical advice. Although I am a trained EFT Practitioner, I do not encourage EFT to replace sound medication attention and advice.*
