The Boulder County Fair is the oldest fair in Colorado at 149 years. The dates of the fair are August 3rd - August 12th, Last year, we had over 152,000 attendees to the fair. We are trying to keep all aspects of the fair affordable for the vast majority that walk through the gates.We will be celebrating our 150th year in 2019. The Boulder County Fair is a nonprofit organization and we are the 3rd largest fair in CO behind the Colorado State Fair and the Denver Stock Show.

The Boulder County Fair, with its deep historic roots, is the oldest fair in the state of Colorado. Started by a group of prominent ranchers and farmers, the first fair in the Colorado Territory was held on October 12, 1869. The vision of these early pioneers was to create a community event which would celebrate the rich diversity of the area, and reflect the activities of its citizens through exhibits encouraging the county’s basic economy. The Boulder County Fair’s mission is to celebrate both rural and urban heritage while cultivating an innovative future through education and leadership. With a tradition of showcasing the accomplishments and leadership of both 4-H and FFA youth and community members, we provide educational and entertaining opportunities for all attendees, meeting the interests and challenges of a changing world.
