After about 1 year I had my first bad Experience with Chase Bank when on a disputed claim came back again in favor of the payee. I realized right there that they were not small business friend. Prior to First Federal Bank where I had my account for 29 years and they always had my back. Another good example of this was my inability to obtain a credit card with them after applying twice. Understand this, I have good-great credit and have many credit cards with 100% on time pay. I feel Stuck at Chase because of the uncertain outcome now and the cost of changing everything. I Moved to L.A. in 1981 with 50.00 in my pocket and drug addicted I went into a program on Venice Beach and after 16 long months I graduated. I took that fifty dollars and bought some interesting item and sold them on the beach and that weekend I made 600.00. To make a long and probably boring story shot within 5 years I built a 7 store chain in L.A. Over the 39 years I have been in business I have paid 100s of thousands of dollars in taxes. collected probably 2 million in State sales Tax and on and on. I will be 65 years old in October and collect 1425.00 in S.S.and without the ability to access capital My business will not see 40 Years (just turned 39). Helping someone buy clothing is a very intimate and integral part of being a "BOUTIQUE" What will set you apart from the pack is the level of knowledge you process, your ability to effectively communicate that knowledge to your client. I think in order to set yourself apart from online sellers is to be exactly opposite of what it is they have and have not to offer.I Find the more interesting I make my store by way of product mix I have to offer the longer the customer spends in your store. This gives you a unique opportunity to get to know who they are and what they like. Call this a social experiment with emphasis on social.
