LA Metro Churches
Los Angeles Metro Churches
We are not a church. We are a small nonprofit organization fighting poverty, disease, the prison industrial complex, and racial inequities in Southern California and globally. We focus on smaller neighborhood congregations and African American/BIPOC faith-based leaders.
The Los Angeles Metropolitan Churches transforms Black communities into constituencies that change the way power operates—locally, statewide, and nationally. The problems facing our communities are complex—the solutions require experimentation, innovation and political power.
LAM is a faith-based organization, established in 1994 by a core group of African American pastors, with a mission to “train and develop the capacity of religious and lay leaders in congregations across Los Angeles to play an active role in the revitalization of their communities, with an emphasis on the provision of services that impact the lives of children and youth.”
