Mitchell Holden Coaching LLC•The EI Actor Method™ SAG/AFTRA
Every serious actor eventually hits one of four walls. Blocked — you’ve experienced things that parallel the character’s journey, but you can’t reach those feelings. Something in you has shut the door. Overwhelmed — you can reach the feelings, but they flood you. The emotions take over and you lose the craft. Shutdown — the prospect of going there is so overwhelming you freeze before you even try. Refusal — consciously or not, you won’t go there. You’ve built walls, and the door stays locked. If you recognize yourself in any of those, you’re not broken. You’re an actor without the tools to do what your talent is asking of you. I’m Mitch Holden. I’ve been a professional actor for over twenty years — SAG-AFTRA, trained at the Stella Adler Conservatory, credits from Star Trek to the stage to internationally distributed film. I also spent years in trauma recovery work and advocacy, which taught me something most acting programs never address: how people shut down, and how they open back up. The EI Actor Method is the result. It uses Emotional Intelligence to map your inner landscape, free your imagination, and build technique you can depend on. Whether you’re an emerging actor, a working professional, or someone returning to the craft with more life behind you — there’s a fifth option beyond those four walls: conscious, healthy access. Start with the free Actor’s Snapshot to discover your patterns, or book a free consultation to talk about what’s possible.
I am an actor who was inspirited by a handful of wonderful, inspiring and gifted teachers that taught me solid techniques that have served me well. I want to pass along all that they taught me and what I have learned from my work and experiences to my fellow actors.
I want to work with actors who are committed to their growth, understand that this is a journey not a quick fix, are willing to do the inner work, want to lead themselves and lift others, and desire to bring their authentic best to their work.
