Many thanks to all of my loyal customers for your ongoing support, trust and friendship. One of my last deliveries on Sun, Dec 27, 2020, was to Russell who followed me from where I started Tamiza's Treats at CRAFTED to the various special events around greater LA to my brick & mortar storefront and finally to my made-to-order bakery free delivery days - it was a fitting and full-circle end.

I still encourage you to "seize the day, have dessert first!"

How We Got Started

My first career was as a pastry chef, and then life took me on a different path, but I'm glad to back in the pastry biz making my own treats!

I wanted to be a pastry chef since I was 14, and started working in a bakery when I was 18. It's been many years in and out of a bakery, restaurant, catering, foodservice and hospitality, and I've decided it's time to hang up the apron professionally!

When you're looking at the crowdfunding websites - be sure to read all the details, besides a variety of qualifications - some will only give you the money you raised if you reach your goal, others will give the full amount you raised during your campaign period, even if wasn't your goal amount. Since I do retail, I have a Frequent Buyer Card / Loyalty Card so that a customer can earn a free treat.  I also use getting 'free stamps' on the card for other promotions such as if you bring an item for the food drive, then you get a free stamp on your Frequent Buyer Card. (more) Since I do retail, I have a Frequent Buyer Card / Loyalty Card so that a customer can earn a free treat.  I also use getting 'free stamps' on the card for other promotions such as if you bring an item for the food drive, then you get a free stamp on your Frequent Buyer Card. I also do an e-newsletter where I mostly advertise special events and upcoming happenings in the store (like August 4th - Celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day by coming in and buying some Chocolate Chip Cookies), as well as promotions.  There's a 'holiday' for everything, so you can find one relevant to your industry or your customer's industry, and sent them a card/note/gift to commemorate - keeps you in front of them, and somewhat out of the blue, so they will likely remember you more. I will do Facebook info and FB-only promos as well. I know these work for me since I can tell when they come back with their card, or show up to a special event, or sometimes they just tell me - hey, I saw this 'here'...
When bringing in samples to a new potential client in an office setting, how do you make sure your product gets past the front door and to the right person?

Great question... If I'm doing samples for the whole office, then I do a small platter, include a few fliers/cards, do some small chit chat with the receptionist, and say they can be shared with everyone (my method to get retail food traffic). If I'm trying to target the HR or Marketing manager (for large companies - I find these are the ones who do the most planning/buying for corporate purposes), then I package and drop off the samples like they are a delivery that is specific for that person (my method to encourage orders).
