About Us

Glimpses Photography was founded in 2004. What began as a love of photography, community involvement and journalism was used to found this family owned and operated business. Glimpses Photography is a member of the St. John and Cedar Lake Chambers of Commerce. Louise Roys is the Chairman for the Cedar Lake Summerfest Charity Car Show. My photos have been featured in the Times and Post Tribune newspapers, in the 2009 June issue of Dog Fancy and on the websites for the St. John and Cedar Lake Chambers, Cedar Lake Summerfest, Covered Harvest Bridge Festival, Freedom Park Bark Park and on many local organizations facebooks. Please visit my two Facebook pages (Louise Roys and Glimpses Photography by Louise Roys) to see samples of the diversity of our work. High definition video capability was added to our services in the summer of 2010. In addition to the photography and video work I also specialize in corporate event planning, marketing, public relations, risk management and strategic planning. These additional capabilities were added to Glimpses, in July 2013, when Louise Roys graduated with an Honors BS Business Administration.
Aquarius Custom Jewelry began in 1990 when Louise Roys set about to create some unique Christmas gifts. Visitors to the house began placing orders for the handmade jewelry. We attended Touch of Dutch as a vendor in August of 1991. Sales took off and we have attended over 20 shows a year since then. I specialize in Colored Gemstone and Precious Metal Jewelry and do both custom design and repair work in house.

I get involved.  I participate in two local chambers and many community events.  Put yourself out there and let people know who you are and what you do. They rely on point and shoot camera or cell phones so they don't think there is any real skill involved and they are wrong.  They sacrifice quality and uniqueness for saving a few dollars and what could be amazing special photos turn out to be sloppy and low quality memories. I have gotten absolutely no response back from advertising in event programs.  When I do advertise it is because I wish to make a donation to that organization. Absolutely, unless you are expecting a conference call to tie in or for pertinent information relevant to the meeting to chip in. (more) Absolutely, unless you are expecting a conference call to tie in or for pertinent information relevant to the meeting to chip in.

I would prefer a furnished Apartment if it lead to three weeks or more, but if it was just a week, a hotel would do.  I'd prefer a hotel for a week's stay simply simplicity and ease.  If if were longer I would want a furnished apartment for privacy, ability to work and cost savings. I like the photo but it need to be centered better.  You cut off the top of your head and that looks bad.  Keep the fonts to two at most and if you have a facebook add it.  You can put up photos of listings.  Be bold with the color of your fonts as well.  Great start.  Just  need a few tweaks. Yes.  Great photos can sell a house.  They can sell anything from a fixer upper with potential to the very high end.  If you limit your self to the very high end houses you loose 90% of your opportunities.
