My first client came from a prior employer over 30 years ago. In our industry we get referrals from the software companies. We buy dealerships, take training, pass exams and then they send us leads. Presently we represent 14 different companies, we continue selling only the ones that send us leads.
We have done trade shows, given seminars, been active in trade groups, etc... We sell and support accounting and CRM software so we use both. We have tried mass mailings and social media, but the one tried and true method for us is our relationships with existing clients and vendors.
