Just because the government does not agree with the content and views of the majority of TikTok subscribers, does not mean it can muzzle free speech and unilaterally ban this social media outlet. Our political leaders are getting a bit long in the tooth and the new generation really wants to hear more balanced coverage of international events than the pandering mainstream media narratives. What are our leaders afraid of, and why can't this alternative platform be allowed to exist as a choice among others?
I found it useful for run off the mill tasks such as drafting letters and asking general questions but I found its accuracy a bit suspect as its information is dated back to 2021 and therefore not current - it can be superseceded and outdated at times.

This was the year of the "pause" - with runaway inflation and record interest rate hikes, there was little to cheer about. Most of our clients are in a "wait and see" mode, planning little investment or construction soon. Let us hope 2023 brings more hope............

I still enjoy the flexibility I have, since I switched to working remotely with a one day office visit. It allows me to plan my work life balance and enjoy more family time now that I do not have much of a commute.

For our customers, we try to identify causes closest to their hearts which they have spoken about previously or we have come to know of it through other means. We then make a decision to support those specific causes within our allotted budget.

We need to examine the other side of this - how will businesses make up for the shortfall when they might not be able to afford to pay $15/hr? Any raise has be be based on revenue and profit. As one small business owner put it to his employees "your raise will be effective when you are!" Simply put, if the $15/hr is mandated, small business owners will simply hire fewer staff and work them harder, or commit them to overtime. So it will not help reduce unemployment levels either. This proposal has to be carefully weighed before it is enacted.

Certainly, with the lock-down and restrictions, we had to invest in technology for our staff to be able to work remotely and continue to churn out proposals and reports to keep our business going. Thinking back to the early 1990s when the internet was new and online services were in their infancy, we could not have operated then under similar circumstances, so we have to count our blessings. We anticipate most of our staff will prefer to continue working remotely well after the lock-down, as it provides them with flexibility to manage their work schedules as they please, while keeping costs of commuting, insurance, maintenance, attire, meals, etc. to a minimum.
