About Us

I am a Maritime Artist with paintings in a number of galleries and museums, including the U.S.S. Constitution Museum. My work has been used on book & CD covers, magazines, and. recently, as artwork for a stamp honoring the Royal Navy in Great Britain.
I research all my work, which is mainly historical ships, to determine the best way to 'tell a story' about whatever the subject is. I have been drawing and painting since I was a child growing up in Boston.
We accept commissions as well as sell completed works and prints. and love talking to people so visitors are welcome to the Studio, just call ahead.

We are an art studio - in other words, Paul paints here. If people wish to visit, they are welcome and we never ask any status. (more) We are an art studio - in other words, Paul paints here. If people wish to visit, they are welcome and we never ask any status.

I have to market my own works - by my web site, in galleries and on Facebook - and the customer already has to be looking for this kind of work. I don't spend much time on line as then I wouldn't be spending time working on my latest painting. So, sort of a catch-22. People still find me, but not in droves. Those who do, are usually very happy with what they find, buy or commission. I welcome visitors, emails, and phone calls, but usually prefer in person or by phone, it seems to me to be time consuming to be going back and forth on line, so, dor better or for worse, that is how I operate.

I would not be applying for a loan either because I am a very small businee and my studio is in my home.  We have been retired for over four years fromour other jobs so are fortunately having no difficulties right now. However, there are so many OTHER businesses that are I certainly hope their needs are adequately addressed, and soon, before we lose all the little individual businesses that make life worth living.

I just finished my ninth painting for this year and have sold several through the galleries who handle my work. I do research online and by ordering material, which has stayed the same for me.  I have been very fortunate.

Paul keeps painting and we have done very well in the past year, including during the virus with sales, inquiries, and keeping the work flowing. This is, of course, a very small business, consisting of the artist, Paul and the admin assistant, Barbara. Available by phone and internet.
