Provoking Hope is doing what we are calling a "Soft Open" on May 26th. My main concerns run two directions. The nature of our services it to offer Peer Support to individuals struggle to get off drugs and or stay off drug and alcohol. So the staff is anxious to get back at work and encountering face to face with their peers they are working with. My staff is a concern, I desire for their safety to be guarded and they be protected in all ways. That sits right beside the client/peers who also need guarded and protected. We have signs instructing what our expectations are. We have moved our interior furniture around to make physical distancing a reality. We are rotating our staffing hours and days to make sure the 25 at a time guideline is adhered to. We are doing sack lunches instead of cooking a crockpot meal. We have touchless sanitizing equipment installed. We will ask folks to wear masks, our staff included. We have purchased "touch thermometers" . We are a vulnerable people organization so we truly believe in training and teaching by example is a key to the success of our client/peers as well as our staff. A New Norm is a good thing and it brings challenges and the chance for growth. We are going to be ok.
