The Honeysuckle Foundation for Children with Cancer is a 501(c)(3) charity founded in 2002 by Rene Giacalone- Michael & Michael Borg, Esq. Our mission is to provide funding & resources for psycho-social programs that help Pediatric Cancer patients and their families. We believe that life should not stop because a child is diagnosed with cancer. Things may be different, but kids deserve to be kids no matter what the circumstances. Doctors, Nurses, and hospitals provide medical care. We work to help provide the social-emotional support.

Our goal here at The Honeysuckle Foundation for Children with Cancer is to raise the awareness level so that one day, ‘Go Gold’ and September as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month will be universally recognized. We look for collaborative opportunities with others to make this happen. We live by the words of Eleanor Roosevelt - “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is the present. That’s why it is called a gift.”

While Alicia, now a 20 year survivor, was on treatment for cancer her wish was to help other kids with their cancer battle. With money she raised selling silver jewelry her wish became a reality when neighbor & friend Michael formed the Honeysuckle Foundation. We work with Cohen Children’s Hospital in New York as well as Golisano Children’s Hospital in South West Florida.
