About Us

The Melville Chamber of Commerce is the Hub of the Long Island Business Community.

We are an unusually hyper active Chamber of Commerce connecting Long Island, NY businesses and professionals with each other and the globe.

We offer various peer to peer and general platforms for networking virtually and In-Person providing 4 to 5 experiences per month, connecting members and prospective members, increasing the opportunity to share resources, business centers of influencers and more.

Our virtual events are free to members and non members. In-Person Events, Free to Members Only. Our most active groups include: Women of Melville Empowerment Networking Platform, NeXGen Professional Platform, The Business Resource Platform and The Premier Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Platform.

Our very reasonable annual membership dues provide access to all our platforms with many more additional features and benefits, so we highly recommend becoming a member at www.melvillechamber.org/membership.

We also work with many non-profits, workforce development professionals, local colleges & universities, government agencies including many other business and resource networks.

Our overall goal is to bring resources together through connecting, facilitating and promoting business networking in a comfortable and inclusive environment.

We strive to improve economic development, energize our communities and small businesses/professional practices, by influencing the building of lasting and trusted, business and social relationships.

How We Got Started

We were founded in 2001 with the foresight of a few individuals, including a family owned firm, Catapano Engineering and Architecture, where the offices of the Melville Chamber of Commerce are currently housed. The Chamber was launched as a 501c6 non-profit membership organization.

The thought was that the 110 Business Corridor was a hub for B2B growth with an extensive range of resources and would have a need for an organization to connect those demographics for explosive economic development that would benefit the entire Long Island region and lift the quality of life for our communities and workforce.

It is the Hub of the Long Island Business Community, as demonstrated by its annual Melville Chamber Business Expo (held in the Fall) which brings thousands of businesses and people together. The Melville Chamber of Commerce (areas: Melville, East Farmingdale, Huntington Station, West Babylon, and beyond!) has events every week, both virtually and in-person. Events virtual are free and in-person is free to members with a nominal fee for non-member attendees. Membership to join is very reasonable and with all the options on programs is well worth the cost. This hyper-active Chamber of Commerce connects Long Island, NY businesses and professionals with each other and the globe. There are peer to peer programs and general platforms for networking both Virtually and In-Person. Probably the most impressive quality about the Chamber is the constant growth and new programing that is offered. There is always an event or program being created for its membership. The addition of the virtual programing has enabled the Chamber to increase its reach beyond geographic borders. The Chamber leadership is always looking for ways to connect members with one another and to offer members their expertise and knowledge to help members find one another and make great connections. Ted Macaluso, the Executive Director of the Melville Chamber, together with its Board of Directors, and Committee Members, work tirelessly to make sure that the Chamber is energized with people and programs that reach the entire community. Ted is approachable and kind, and always helpful to businesses who have questions or ideas. The Chamber exists to guide and assist businesses and business people and they excel at doing just that. Our Chamber of Commerce started early on to help our members and community by transitioning as early as late March to virtual educational, resourceful and informative events to help them transition as well to doing business virtually and finding resources to help in most aspects of the challenges... (more) Our Chamber of Commerce started early on to help our members and community by transitioning as early as late March to virtual educational, resourceful and informative events to help them transition as well to doing business virtually and finding resources to help in most aspects of the challenges faced during the pandemic in business, education and family life. We connected with other Chambers, organizations, local state, county officials and media outlets to organize a multi prong approach in response to the Pandemic. We are continuing to do so for the business community and the community at large on Long Island in New York.
