Susan Wiener Enterprises LLC has been serving the insurance community for 28 years. At this time we are working with health insurance renewals and disability and DBL/PFL claims due to Covid and other reasons. There is a sharp interest in providing health insurance by employers for their staff. WE also serve the community by helping them save premium dollars with lower cost plans and offering ways in which they can get income supplements to help with the cost of deductibles and max out of pocket expenses. We also provide ancillary products and many other resources and work along side our clients to provide any assistance they need.

So far I have basically been lucky....I own a small insurance agency for almost 29 years. This past year has been very difficult since my staff and i have been remote for about 9 month. The past 3 months I have gone into the office, about once or twice a week and still continued much of the work from home. My major work with the agency is health insurance and disability.....which unfortuantely or fortunately has been of major concern to most people and to owners of company's. Most of the work is by conferencing, phone appointments, zoom and webinars now. In some ways good since that has freed me up from traveling for appointment and back and forth to work (about 35 minutes form my house each way). So far, so good. This is now our businest time of the year...many renewals and new business, but for the most part it is good. The drawback is that you actually get up get yourself ready and the hours move quickly and instead of working from 8-5 which I usually did, I find that I work from 8-7 or more. But, I still feel fortuante. Only the future will tell now.

Kudos to Laurie for her ability and willingness to push forward in the face of such economic difficulty. I too am a woman business owner.....I own an insurance agency and find ourselves right in the thick of the biggest time for health insurance renewal and new business. My advice is to keep pushing that bolder up hill....you will get to the top and the ground will smooth out and you will find that you have learned a lot about business, yourself and adapting to a situation and you will be the better for it. I enjoy doing business with woman business owners....without a word we know the difficulties we have faced and the type of women we deal with. Good luck to all my women friends in the business world.

There was no answer to hopefully a good impact. In my industry (benefits, health, disability, etc. the 4qtr. has become the busiest time of the year due to the enactment of the Affordable Care Act. This is the busines time for renewals, new accounts, etc. It is going to be very different this year and hard to answer. When we come into January, I think the industry will give you a better idea on what is or is not happening.

Our office space is not officially opening until January 2021, but we can go into the office if we want and some of us have. It is difficult working remotely because most of my resources are at the office in Melville. It is sometimes more leisurely working at home and other times frustrating and to get in touch with my employees is done by phone or email or both. This is more difficult as well. I personally am hoping that a vaccine that works and does not harm us will be available by Spring. I would like to get back to the office....it is more structured and conducive to work.... It pushes you forward.

At this time businesses are having many financial problems...since I am in the insurance agency business, I can help them save money by putting in place lower cost health plans, and set up income supplement plans that are much less costly. This will keep your coverage almost the same, but be a lot less costly. I can also steer them in the direction of lower cost disability and life insurance policies. Doing this will free up money for cash flow and give them the same type of coverage they need. I am also exploring putting together a webinar to explain how there are other ways to introduce more cash flow to a business that is coming back to the office and trying to re open and save money in several areas - keeping in place what you need. Susan Wiener Enterprises LLC has been in business for 28 years and our company has been through a lot of changes that we have had to adjust to and have a good grasp on how to save money and make sure your employees are content and wanting to get back to work.

I will have to see the forgiveness area and what I was allowed to help with Payroll, rent, etc.

First and foremost, the building has to be completely cleaned. It has been dormant for a while so after cleaning they need to check the main air conditioning unit and ducts and change all filters into the building. We will need to reconfigure the office and put up plexiglass sheet panels between some of the administrator staff so that they are not in too close proximity without protection. We will have to make a floor pattern so that when people move about the office it is all in one direction. As I understand it, the main building owners have formed a committee to make the quarters safe....We will have to wait and see. Lastly, we will be staggering the days that the staff will be in the office so that it is not too crowded at any time. With all that said, I am sure there is more that they can do and will do. Stay safe! Lets hope we go forward and all of us stay well.

My community is larger than just one area. I am the owner of an insurance agency and I have currently accounts all over the tri-state area - long island the boroughs including Manhattan. Westchester, and New Jersey. I am trying to keep in touch with my current clients and hopefully will soon be in touch with perspective clients once the NY area begins to open. I feel that coming together will not mean physically for a long time....I think meetings will be webex, webinars, zoom, etc. This is not the best way for someone to get to know you so it will be more daunting. Hopefully through perhaps two meetings online we will get to know each other better and a new client will commit to allowing us to help them in the health/disability/life, anciallary product industry, etc. But we can't look back, so I am looking ahead. Thank you, Best Susan

Hi...I am starting my 29th year in business this January and I have seen a lot in the insurance arena. I've heard these commercials on the radio for what they are calling Medishare. (they call it biblical) I do not sell them nor am I involved in them. I have found over the years that it is always best to stick with the tried and true...and if new carries come out or other ideas they are backed by the Federal and/or State Government.. The carriers we deal with (not just health insurance, but all insurance) have been around a long time and follow the Department of Financial Services guidelines. The companies like a Medishare are telling you that you can save hundreds of dollars a month for a family. I don't really know what would happen if a family member were struck by serious illness. If you want experience and sound guidance give us a call at Susan Wiener Enterprises LLC in Melville. Hope that helps with your question.
