If your son's return is being rejected is because his social was included in someone else's tax return that has already been filed. Did you already file? If you are only using it during tax season, then, you'll want a software that gives you just the forms you need for the type of returns you will prepare. Using a free software is a no-no, unless you don't care to look professional enough to even have your own company name and logo on it but rather let your clients know that they can buy TurboTax at Walmart or go to TurboTax directly. We use ATX.

(more) Have a professional tax preparer (CPA or EA), make sure he/she understand your business/lifestyle/goals and make sure that you understand his/her position on the recommendations given. Many individuals/small business owners tend to communicate with their tax professional when there is no time or resources to make changes to decisions they've already made; every business should have an accountant that can demonstrate the skills and knowledge to serve his/her clients and does not necessarily need to be a CPA. Unless you have a few professionals getting to know you, your business, your lifestyle, and your goals, you wouldn't need a tax attorney to determine whether you are paying the right amount of taxes. If you suggest having a tax attorney double-check your accountant's work, it means you don't trust your accountant enough and, if that's the case, replace your accountant. There are always reasons for an accountant to make suggestions and most of the times are in the best interests of the individual/small business owner. Hence, you should listen to the accountant's reasoning for make those recommendations.

When it comes to other marketing products, such as mugs, they are NOT reasonably priced at all. If you think VistaPrint is reasonably priced on this type of product, and you get good quality, you haven't done your homework of looking around. You just started with them and you are loyal to them. Which is not a matter of being reasonably priced nor about quality, nor about your own economy. While you are on here, search for businesses closer to you, especially start-up businesses or small businesses. Businesses that need your business to grow. Guaranteed they have what you are looking for: price and quality. They will want you to come back. They will want you to dump Vistaprint. You will most likely get a bargain on quantity as well.

If you control the when, where, how, then they are employees. States and IRS have been working on this issue for the last few years and are sending out letters for audits on payroll taxes. We have a few clients to whom we provide payroll services and before we start providing payroll or whenever they decide to hire someone new, we always have to analyze their employees/contractors to make sure that we cover all the "what-if" scenarios to protect our clients and properly classify them. A payroll audit can be very financially painful.
