STARTED IN 1953 BY MY FATHER VICTOR B ROOK SR WITH 500 DOLLARS FROM THE ARMY , OPENED A SHOP UNDER THE PORTLAND BRIDGE , WALKED FROM CROMWELL TO THE SHOP EVERY DAY , AT THAT TIME RT 9 WAS A DIRT ROAD , FROM THERE MY DAD WENT UP TO MAIN STREET , THEN TO WASHINGTON STREET AROUND 1975 OR SO , WE ARE A FAMILY OWNED SHOP.
