I write historical fiction and nonfiction set in the Midwest during the world wars that explores fraying family relationships and broken dreams with determination to rescue both. Join me as I blog about small-town America and family, horse history, history bits and bobs, and share book reviews, interview other authors, and offer monthly book giveaways.

Also, I'm an editor and proofreader for authors, editing companies, and publishers. I'm a contest judge for Writer's Digest Self-Published Awards. That said, places like Upwork are considered "content mills," and not much worth the effort for the time you invest in bidding or the clientele there... That said, places like Upwork are considered "content mills," and not much worth the effort for the time you invest in bidding or the clientele there looking for work to be done for pennies, which quite honestly, does not produce good services. If you bring value to the table, coupled with a deep, respectable working relationship, clients will reach out to you.

Events that offer something of value (learning, continuing education, etc.) would definitely get me to turn off the TV and go out. :)
