What sets me apart is that customers are working with a real person, I work through all the details and I custom design all the gift baskets and gift items. I offer quick turn-around as often as possible and pay attention to details, using as little waste in my baskets as possible. Most, if not ALL, containers are reusable and keepsake.

I never found them to be worth the money.  Lots of work with little return.  When you get the list to follow up, half don't remember you being there and the other half don't respond.  Most are looking for bargains and the freebies.  Just my opinion  (more) I never found them to be worth the money.  Lots of work with little return.  When you get the list to follow up, half don't remember you being there and the other half don't respond.  Most are looking for bargains and the freebies.  Just my opinion

Not necessarily, I have my personal number on my business card, so it doesn't really bother me that my number is out there.  Getting all kinds of random calls anyway. (more) Yes, I believe they will be.  There are still people out there that LIKE the experience of browsing, interacting with other humans, conversing and having a personal connection to their purchases.  And some things just can't be acquired with online shopping.  Even though my customers go to my website, they ALWAYS call me to customize something or just to hear that there is a "real" person behind the designs that cares the gift they are sending is getting the attention that is needed.

It's not just this processor, I take a lot of phone orders, so I don't always have the card in my hand to swipe, I have to process either online or on my phone, so the percentage is higher per transaction because of the security issue.  I'm told there isn't anything they can do about that, so... There are times I will give a product upgrade on a future order when the person that gave the referral reorders. If it's a regular customer, they really aren't looking for a "reward" for referring business - they are telling people about my service because I take good care of them with their gifting needs and want others to experience the same.  It's really a personal decision, not an across the board "referral" discount.

I try to respond quickly if they are not good.  But, I always ask if they will leave feedback when they receive their gift.  If you don't ask, people don't think to do it.  Sometimes they don't even think to thank the person that sends the gift basket!  I started including blank thank you cards...
