About Us

As a parent educator and coach, I give parents the skills they need to be more effective and the support they need to make their wisest parenting choices day after day. Whether it is how to mitigate tantrums with a two year old or to guide a teen in making healthy choices, I teach parents to meet their kids with a combination of warmth and empathy on the one hand and high expectations on the other (the basis of Positive Discipline or parenting with love and logic).

How We Got Started

I left 25 years of teaching when I realized how isolated parents are. The skills they used to learn from family or social groups, they were now having to learn independently. Rather than parents asking freely for help and advice, it has become a point of pride that parents can do it on their own--when historically we have never parented alone. Now parents are turning to experts like me to efficiently get the skills they need to know how to talk to their kids for optimum connection and cooperation and how to run their houses in such a way that reduces everyone's stress.

Without our health we have access to so much less.  Good health should always be one of our ongoing goals.  That being said, I don't think it is necessary to be radical on the subject to get most of its benefits.  Moderation in all things does the job! I find it much easier to stay focused when I have a concrete goal I am working towards with a concrete date.   Then I can back plan.  For example, right now I am creating and promoting a new webinar.  First I decided on a date and put it out into the world.  That helps me stay focused because now... A tip that surprised me from a local social media guru is that your audience likes to know something about you.  At least on Instagram, I have taken that to heart, and in between points about parenting, I share something of myself and my life.   (more) A tip that surprised me from a local social media guru is that your audience likes to know something about you.  At least on Instagram, I have taken that to heart, and in between points about parenting, I share something of myself and my life.
