Moorestown Theater Company
The award-winning, non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) is an inclusive, equal-opportunity community theater organization that produces at least 15 musicals each season (from January through December).
Since our debut in 2003, MTC has received 46 'Best Of' Awards (i.e., for 'Best Community Theater', 'Best Summer Camp', etc.) from various publications and organizations in the Delaware Valley and South Jersey.
And since 2013, we have also earned 14 'Outstanding Achievement' Awards in Acting (seven for casts, and seven for individuals) at the national Jr. Theater Festival (JTF) in Atlanta, GA. MTC also earned two 'Outstanding Achievement' Awards (one for our cast and one for our choreography for our production of "Hairspray, Jr.") at the regional Eastern States Theater Association Festival (ESTA Fest) in Wilmington, DE in 2017.
After producing / directing two all-ages musicals (in 1999 and 2000) with another non-profit organization in our small town of Moorestown, NJ (outside of Philadelphia, PA), my wife, Carol Ann Murray, said "Why don't we do this ourselves?"!
And with that thought (and after three years of planning and filing paperwork), the non-profit Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) made it's 'debut' (incorporated) in the state of New Jersey in March 2003. That first year, we had eight performances of our first musical, an all-ages production of "Annie", with 90 Cast Members (40 Children, 40 Adults, 9 Teens, and 1 Dog!). Through the end of 2021 (our 19th Season!), MTC has had 8,383 Cast Members in 871 Performances of 194 Productions.
