Rick established his ceramic studio on Lake Norman in 2015 following an accomplished 45-year career as a classroom teacher of advanced mathematics. Rick enjoys creating unique, functional pieces that are also decorative. His work features a variety of wheel thrown stoneware in a wide selection of natural clay and glaze colors. His favorite forms are bowls, jars and lidded vessels. He enjoys developing different designs, and his artistic work includes hand painted and carved pieces whose variations make each piece an individual work of art.
