My Morgantown roots run deep. I grew up here and went on to attend West Virginia University. After graduating, I worked as an accountant at WVU. In time, I was promoted to Chief Business Officer for Academic Affairs. I loved working there and I loved the people, but once I had a newborn and a three year old with health challenges, I wanted to spend as much time with my family as possible.
This was a leap of faith during a difficult time, to say the least. I began doing taxes from home and slowly my business grew. This all began because I wanted to be available for my children (now four sons!).
These days, Melissa Powers, CPA and Associates has nine employees and serves the community we love as trusted financial experts.
