We grow our spheres of influence in many different ways and both inside and outside of your chosen career industry. In one hour on an early Saturday or Sunday morning I take to a farmers market to chat with the rest of the early risers looking for the freshest produce. Produce is s a great icebreaker (for you produce lovers) not to mention so many other local products. I love to make friends with those who are stewards of the land and if there is a real estate need in the future I am an advocate and a guide.

(more) Here is a blog I wrote for Active Rain last week. It really is me "the agent"! Not the franchise! A few years ago I blogged about joining a real estate company who taught the concept that, it's the agent who is the "brand" not the franchise. This was a new concept to me since I was only affiliated with brand name franchise real estate companies during my career. It was the franchise not YOU that the seller/buyer wanted to do business with, I was told. I left a brand name franchise to manage a small company, shortly afterward seeing the difference between an independent real estate office versus a franchise, myself and two partners opened a Boutique Real Estate Company "Cafe Realty" I am proud to say we now have a fourth partner with 12 agents! The moral of the story (blog) is YOU ARE YOU OWN BRAND! Agents who need confidence and are concerned about leaving a big brand franchise often see themselves not as an agent who works for a brand name, but an agent who HAS and IS their own personal brand. This is your business, make your brand and attract buyers/sellers because of you!

The most important thing a Realtor can do for there both there seller and buyer clients is to be have open communication about the step by step process, be honest, work as a team with the attorney, loan officer and client.
