I’m Zenda Walker, a multi award-winning author, celebrity hair stylist, and education consultant. I founded the Know Your Hairitage Project-a New York-based publishing and education consulting company dedicated to supporting school districts that strengthens educator capacity with, programs that boost confidence, student achievement, and engagement

How We Got Started

was inspired to tell hair stories and connect children to their #hairitage when my daughter was bullied in school for wearing cultural hairstyles. By exploring the WHY behind our hair, she developed better conflict resolution skills, confidence and her grades improved! It is now my mission to help other families. I am also a Masters candidate (Class of 2027) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education studying Educational Leadership.
