About Us

I am the independent publisher of Skagit Valley Living, the exclusive monthly publication for homeowners in select communities between Anacortes and Mount Vernon/Burlington and from La Conner/Shelter Bay through Bow-Edison and Chuckanut, and Mount Vernon Neighbors, serving homeowner households in Mount Vernon with the highest home values. Our magazines are full-color glossy high design value books full of stories about local people, community organizations, history, art, food, beverages, and fun. As a sponsor, you bring all of this to our readers and they reciprocate by supporting you.

I also serve as market leader for Northwest Washington (Whatcom, Skagit Snohomish & Island counties) and am recruiting entrepreneurial people who want to be in in business for themselves but not by themselves. We have identified a number of potential markets that could support a community magazine...

How We Got Started

Following the success of my local colleagues who publish Southside Living, Fidalgo Living, and Lake Views, I decided to create a version for Skagit Valley, launching Skagit Valley Living in October 2020. In December 2022 I launched Mount Vernon Neighbors. Every Best Version Media publication exists solely because of the support of the community. My sincere thanks to all who have helped me along on this journey!

Building a successful brand isn't just about placing ads; it's about consistent, careful, and precise engagement with your current and potential customers, and the best way to engage with your target audience is through content marketing–a broad term these days. According to the Content Marketing Institute, the best way to reap the benefits of content marketing is to be featured in a "highly targeted publication that positions your business as a top expert on subject matter your audience cares about." Print media homes in on your target audience, which helps ensure your brand message will be read by your ideal customers. A study by Temple University's Fox Business School shows that print media is more engaging, memorable, and is proven to increase desirability for a specific product or service more than digital media. It also shows that a huge benefit to print media is that it results in strong emotional connections and increases brand memorability and profitability. Positioning yourself as an expert voice in an exclusive print publication helps you create a lasting buzz about your products, services and, most importantly, you.
