We offer ON-LEASH DOG WALKS in nature on the trail of their choice. For reactive dogs, Merry Puppinns offers behaviour modification through the meditative system of Reiki whilst out walking in nature.

We accept all dogs 7 mos old and senior dogs, accepting dogs that don't play well with others, private walks and/or walks with a buddy. I do not accept dogs that are left in crates for the majority of their day, and/or longer than a 3 - 4 hour period. Dogs are social, pack animals and being in a kennel/crate for longer than 3-4 hours/day is frustrating and unfair for them. I suggest Doggie Daycare should your dog not be able to have free roam of your home. Every dog deserves a walk and it breaks up their day when Mum and Dad are @ work. You decide the length of your dog's walk and location/preferred trail. The highlight to any dog's day is a walk in nature for stimulation and socialization. This is important and essential to their health and well being.
Dog's give us their heart and soul unconditionally, so we in turn must accommodate their needs with the same unconditional love.

CAT VISITS: Litter box changes, meals on time, enrichment time with toys, cuddles and brushes, Cat TV.

DOG VISITS, daily/weekly/monthly rates for visits when you are gone for the day.
Dog visits include a nature walk, treats when arriving home, freshening water bowls, feeding lunch and/or dinner and relaxing to soothing music to rest and sleep.

PROFESSIONAL PETSITTING - compassionate and quality care for *SMALL* dogs, cats & micro pets (bunnies, hedgehogs, guinea pigs & hamsters) in the comfort and convenience of your own home whilst you are away on vacation, business, medical trips etc. I ensure, your beloved animals, remain on their regular routines, meals, walks and bedtimes. Your animals are left no longer than 3 - 4 hours during the day, whilst I am out walking dogs. I specialize in geriatric care, special needs, special diets and confidently administer medications including insulin shots & Sub Q fluid therapy, when necessary according to your Veterinarians recommendations and instructions. Overnights are limited since I do bring my own dog with me, who is a senior Chihuahua X Corgi. This doesn't always work for every situation, but it is the only way I can stay overnight in homes. Unfortunately, I do not stay overnight with cats, I also do not take puppies or care for dogs under 1 year of age nor big dogs. Consultations and assessment are necessary and mandatory, prior to any overnight stays.

ANIMAL REIKI PRACTITIONER/TEACHER - Certified in the Let Animals Lead® Method of Animal Reiki by, Kathleen Prasad of Animal Reiki Source and registered with Canadian Reiki Association. Merry Puppinns offers private sessions for your animals in the comfort of their home and/or out in nature - weather permitting. I do have a sliding scale fee for Animal Reiki.

I am previously, Veterinary Assistant of 15 + years. I worked in clinical environments and emergency care. I further worked in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation with seal pups and wildlife. I created and managed an in-between wildlife centre in Bella Coola, B.C. for bear cubs, birds of prey, song birds, deer, and seal pups.
I have worked with animals for the past 45 years in various different capacities and with rescue dogs and rehabilitation/behaviour modification.
I continue to educate myself in all areas of Animal Health, I am a proud member of VSPN (Veterinary Continuing Education) and write monthly articles in Nanaimo Magazine under Merry Puppinns, Paws For Thought. I am fully Insured & Bonded and Pet First Aid Certified.
I have recently started the journey of International Pet Travel/Relocation and currently offering relocation services from Canada to the UK. I am currently completing my certification through IATA and will be expanding these services in the future.
