About Us
The campground has it all, cabins, Tiny Home, 2 onsite RV Rentals, tent, and R.V. sites. We do summer boat rentals, we have a concession and a store. Located 100 meters from Westwood Lake, nestled in native forest, close to hiking and mountain bike trails, swimming and fishing, golfing, aquatic and fitness center and we are a 5 min. drive to downtown and ferry. Close to the bus route as well. We Don't Stop Playing At Westwood Lake Campground.
How We Got Started
We took over the business in 2003. It was a run-down campground with a bad reputation. It took us years to get it to where it is now.
We previously had a very successful construction company for 12 years when we lived on Gabriola Island.

I'm an artist myself, so if I can showcase some ones art, I'm happy to do it, as I realize how difficult it can be to get ones self out there, so people know about you. This could only happen if I had space to put it on display. I would not expect a big commission either, but I would put a time...

This could only happen if I had space to put it on display. I would not expect a big commission either, but I would put a time limit on how long I would be willing to have it on display for. I have displayed artwork in the past in my small office we run over the summer months, but I have limited space, now that I have added the store and concession to it. I support local art for sure.
Comfort and quietness and courtesy are very important, as far as we are concerned. We aim to please, and make sure our customers have a great stay.

When we bought this run down business 16 years ago, we knew we were up for a challenge, as we had never run a campground before and we knew we had a lot of work to do to get to a place where we would feel good about it. But after owing our own construction business for 12 years and I have worked in hospitality for several years we knew we had some good work experiences. Once we made that decision to purchase it, we knew we would be able to transform it into a beautiful campground and never thought for one moment we would not succeed, even though we took on huge risk at the time.
