What sort of house would you realistically build?

I would build a one story with geo-thermal power as well as solar and electric. In addition, I would make the house for the elderly and/or disabled because we are all aging and sometimes light switches are too high!

Good answer. Aging in place is such an important consideration. Regarding heat, have you ever heard of multi-fuel furnaces?
