Not smart. From all angles and aspects, raise that price and the prices of everything else will be forced to go up as well leading to a larger gap between the poor and middle-class, leaving even fewer options during a pandemic of all things.

Raise the price and more people can afford the higher prices and depend less on the government which in turn would help everyone, more money all around in the economy. Check out Bernie’s amendment, it addresses the gap between big business and those of us that own small business’.
Are you also against votes for women? It was also supposed to turn society upside down.
Agreed. The entire wage scale will shortly adjust, increasing the price for everything, undermining all our outing power, leaving those at the minimum sill earning the minimum and unable to make ends meet. At no point in time, in the history of the world, has anybody attempting to support even themselves on minimum wage, let alone a family, ever lived in anything but destitute poverty. No economy is based on the minimum. It is based on the median. It is a societal expectation for individuals to get a foothold at the bottom and begin climbing. It is utterly dysfunctional for those standing at the bottom to expect the climb to be legislated away, and the fruits of it delivered to the them, without obligation of any contribution to society for those fruits.
