Minimum Wage Hike: Will It Help Or Hurt?

Not smart. From all angles and aspects, raise that price and the prices of everything else will be forced to go up as well leading to a larger gap between the poor and middle-class, leaving even fewer options during a pandemic of all things.

Raise the price and more people can afford the higher prices and depend less on the government which in turn would help everyone, more money all around in the economy. Check out Bernie’s amendment, it addresses the gap between big business and those of us that own small business’.

Avoiding the obvious political discussion, Bernie is a politician with an agenda just like all the rest. Pointing out the obvious economic and financial well-being of people, discussions have been made and theories tested over time and from economists that should be common knowledge at this point. Check those out and let me know if there are remaining questions that may have been missed. Happy to discuss those for a profitable conversation as opposed to throwing out opinions. 👍

Are you also against votes for women? It was also supposed to turn society upside down.

This isn't about women's rights. If the question was should women be paid the same as men you'd have a legit argument here.
It's about increasing the minimum wage. With that said all increasing it does is increase costs. All the businesses that hire low wage employees i.e. teens and low skilled workers will have to charge more for their products making prices increase across the board. There by making $15 not relevant and the need to increase it to $25/hr to have the same affect. So I don't see where increasing makes any sense at all.

Agreed. The entire wage scale will shortly adjust, increasing the price for everything, undermining all our outing power, leaving those at the minimum sill earning the minimum and unable to make ends meet.
At no point in time, in the history of the world, has anybody attempting to support even themselves on minimum wage, let alone a family, ever lived in anything but destitute poverty. No economy is based on the minimum. It is based on the median. It is a societal expectation for individuals to get a foothold at the bottom and begin climbing. It is utterly dysfunctional for those standing at the bottom to expect the climb to be legislated away, and the fruits of it delivered to the them, without obligation of any contribution to society for those fruits.
