How We Got Started

ContractorCoachPRO was started on the advice of my Grandfather to coach what I was great at due to my passion for coaching. After many years of owning a $25MM+ contracting business and then helping selling our software to AccuLynx.com I became their Director of Sales to help them penetrate their niche. After almost 5 years we had successfully done so but during all those visits to over 1000 contractors I saw a need for someone to be available to help with the learning curve on correctly scaling a contracting business. At first I thought I would just help out a few companies I knew that wanted my advice but 7 years later we are still at it and growing every year.

(more) Nicole, you have several questions here but I will try to stick to the overall theme but I am going to change the question just a bit from, "How do you keep customers coming back month after month?" to "How do you keep customers coming back?" Whether it is monthly, daily, weekly, quarterly, yearly or decades, depending on your product or service the key is the core of your question. How do we keep them coming back? Like a lot of the other answers I see, genuine, authentic customer service with great quality will get you a long way to answering your question. In reality if you can add value in a relationship as a friend, a client will always purchase from you unless you are egregiously overpriced. To do this you have to have a plan. I know, "You can't plan an authentic, valuable relationship." I beg to differ. If you truly do care about your clients/friends you will care enough to make the effort to plan your follow up and value to them. Normally this follows a multi-pronged attack. I recommend something you scheduled the following to be done at specific times). You can do so through calendar reminders or a CRM.  A thoughtful text, just because you care , a phone call to check in, an email tailored to be specific to them with something you thought they might find valuable and not necessarily about your services. A newsletter, mailer, drop by because you were in the neighborhood, or an invite to an event like a dinner, sporting event or concert based on their specific likes. Last but not least a gift here and there that isn't related to their birthday or anniversary. I like doing these on the anniversary of our first meeting.  We help business create these types of follow up programs and automate them. If you're any good, you're going to have a lot of friends, so automation is your friend. If you care enough to be a part of each of their lives you will make the effort to do so whether manually or as your friendships go, through automation. Hope this helps a little...

I do believe that some customers use standard objections to test the ability to get further concessions from the sale. Most though object due to two main objections.  Price - and more clearly the price vs the value they feel they are receiving  You/Your Company - Do they like you? Trust you? Feel your company can live up to expectations? With that said we do get all kinds of objections but they all come down to the two listed above. We coach clients in sales strategy all day every day. We determine what the main objections are that they receive from their prospects and then design a presentation that defeats those objections throughout the presentation without feeling "salesy" or "disingenuous".  When they complete their presentation the two objections mentioned above as well as a host of other secondary objections have been defeated with a presentation focused on relieving those fears and issues. At that point the client sees that the logical choice is our client over any and all competition.  In summary, figure out what all of the most common objections are, then design a presentation that naturally solves those objections to leave you as the logical choice.  If you or anyone else reading this needs assistance in this area to develop presentations like this, feel free to hit me up by direct messaging me via Alignable.  Hope I at least helped a little bit...

I actually love it. We ask for feedback about every coaching call, webinar, presentation, and speaking engagement we do. The insights are invaluable and without them we wouldn't be where we are today. (more) I actually love it. We have aligned ourselves with a group of vendors in the industry we serve to direct clients to when they have a need. Through this group clients get agreed upon discounts from fellow vendors. We also have an affiliate program where vendors, clients, and influencers have their own specific link that a discount for our services applies to and those affiliates can then be associated with the referral and thus rewarded in various ways for sending clients to us.

In an effort to give you accurate advice I need a bit more information. Are you focused on residential or commercial roofing? Would you classify yourself as a traditional roofing contractor or a storm restoration roofing contractor?  With the answer to those two questions, I should be able to shed some light on your best course of action. You may notice that this is what I do, my company ContractorCoachPRO coaches contractors on how they can grow their businesses quickly and efficiently. You may not be in position to hire a coach at this point but you may still want to set up a free coaching call with me. I do this to help new starts be successful with the knowledge if you are you will most likely come back to ContractorCoachPRO later when you are in a position to expand for some in depth coaching.  You might also be interested in our Sales and Marketing Training Website for contractors, www.contractorcoachpro.com.

If you are a consultant or coach as I assume, Facebook, Industry Events, Free Speaking at Events, building an email list and relationships. I see you're Ziglar Trainer. Who needs your help the most, focus on that niche and become a part of their ecosystem. Join their Facebook groups, get involved in the discussions and give something valuable away for free with your email campaigns. If it is any good, they will buy from you. I started 5 years ago and now consistently coach about 50 businesses a year at approximately $30k each.  I speak for free through industry vendors throughout the country a couple of times a month. My schedule is booked more than a year out for that. Each event nets me 2-3 new clients after they see I know what I am talking about.  Hope that helps...

(more) Like some of the others have said realizing how you both benefit each other is the first step. Once you have identified how you can help a possible referral partner design a program specifically for them that helps them sell their customers with you as an added benefit if your services are needed. As an example: You are a roofing company and your clients are people who have leaks or old roofs. You determine that Real Estate Brokers are an ideal referral source so you design a "Preferred Real Estate Broker Program". In this program anyone that the broker sends to you will move to the front of the line, get a better warranty, discounted upgrade, etc. etc. You have to make the program valuable to them that they can sell more houses because of it. There is obviously more to this and we design these programs everyday with our coaching clients. If you want to discuss further shoot me a message. Either way, good luck!
