By helping people in financial need when they have a medical emergency with their pet, we see that the animals stay where they are loved and are not put to sleep or surrendered to a shelter. A shelter should be solely for animals that have no one to love or care for them. It is a lot less expensive to help someone with a veterinary bill than for a rescue or shelter to take the pet in and care for it, advertise, etc.
