Minimum wage is what it is -- wage paid to non-skilled basic workers. If a worker wants to earn more money, he should be taught to make himself more valuable to the company that employs him. America should be encouraging its citizens to add value wherever they work if they want to earn more money, instead of rewarding unmotivated workers. However, the big wheel has been set in motion and we'll just have to brace ourselves and go with the flow. Prices will encourage and $15 will still get the minimum wage workers nowhere.
One thing is for sure, raising the minimum wage to $15 will force many workers to work less because working too many hours will mean they're making 'too much money' which will eventually disqualify them from government benefits. So now workers will choose to work 20 hours instead of 40. The end result is... prices will increase while productivity will decrease. GOOD JOB AMERICA!!!
