Eneslow has been in business since 1909. My family and I have run Eneslow since 1968. This is by far the most challenging experience. It exceeds all others put together. On March 20th, 2020 we closed our 111 year old comfort footwear and orthotics retail business. When we reopened on June 8th 2020 we found 80% of our business gone. Our business seven months later is still down 60% to 70%, depending on store location and neighborhood. Our custom workshop and retail stores are serving those who have returned to their neighborhoods and need comfortable shoes. We've closed one of our four stores and will continue to downsize until this economic tsunami that has followed the pandemic is over. We ask New Yorkers to return to their small owner operated businesses and remember who we exist for; all New Yorkers whose feet hurt and want to be comfortable. We just reopened on June 8th. We're down 80% versus last year. That speaks to customer's concerns. Most who come in are "need-based" return customers. We have to fight for business interruption insurance to have any chance to survive.

We have received the PPP money. We haven't opened and cannot open our retail stores until after June 7th.
We are currently mandated to use 75% of the loan we received for payroll within an 8 week period if we want loan forgiven. We will not need 75 % for payroll since we will have to open...

We will not need 75 % for payroll since we will have to open incrementally by appointment. We are hoping the rules will change of how soon and to what end the use is permitted for forgiveness.
