About Us

For 15 years I have been successfully creating original illustrations for picture book publications and custom digital graphics for print and web design according to the exact preferences and specifications of a wide diversity of professional publishers and clients.

My technique of blending original illustration with custom digital art enables me to produce designs of unlimited creativity and visual imagination, offering clients greater flexibility, variety, and choices for consideration.

I submit finished projects through email and online file transfer services, and email every client an online price estimate, online contract, and online invoices, easily allowing me to work remotely for any client in the world.

How We Got Started

It is my goal to be the sole decision maker and creative designer, thereby having all my projects reflect only my creativity, imagination, talent, and skills. Communication is only directly between the client and me. I am therefore solely responsible for the success of my business.

No different than my motivation to breathe to stay alive. I have spent an enormous amount of time and energy networking, as well as marketing and promoting my business, mostly through the internet. I bookmarked every networking site that I joined, created my profile with, and uploaded my portfolio too. By doing so, I have created and established a huge online networking infrastructure that I can rely and depend upon to visit whenever I may wish to network further. In my own experience, although there is a huge deficit between the amount of time spent networking and the actual clients and projects I acquired through networking, I do not feel or believe it was a waste of time, energy, and effort. Actually, for myself, networking was, is, and will continue to be an exciting adventure into the possible clients I could connect with and acquire, opportunities to discover, and projects to be hired for.

There exist a plethora of online sites to join, create your profile, upload your portfolio/resume, and advertise and market your business to network with other professionals and potential clients. Advertising in this manner takes effort, time, patience, creativity, imagination, and persistence, and is not guaranteed to succeed 100%. You must consistently manage and update your advertising on an on-going basis. Creating a presence through advertising is crucial for every business to win customers.

(more) Scott, I feel that both Lani Leuthner and Matthew McDonald have offered the best solutions to not receiving payment on time or not at all. Always protect yourself with a contract with very specific terms concerning a payment plan and schedule. Always stipulate to receive a down payment first and foremost before you even begin any work for a client. Then you can also stipulate about receiving the principal payment before finishing the work for a client. Just make sure the client never receives any of your finished work unless they submit a payment up front beforehand. Nothing is foolproof or guaranteed, but this will allow you to weed out the good clients from the bad. If you may not receive payment, another method is shaming. This may not help you in getting paid and may even result in you not receiving payment at all and possibly getting sued. It is risky and it is playing dirty. If a client is constantly difficult by skipping or delays payment, you can write up a bad review of them and share it on as many social media & business sites that you can. You don't want to be accused of slander or libel or spreading falsehoods, so be 100% positive that you are writing truthfully about your experience with such a client. Spoiling a client's reputation is a serious matter and can backfire terribly, so you can perhaps even warn (not threaten!) the client first before you do so. If all this is done, most likely the relationship with the client will cease, so very careful consideration of all the pros and cons must be made before you make the decision to use this method.

However, if you do so also do not ever assume the situation will subsequently improve and if it doesn't, never allow the business relationship to continue and drag on. A business relationship bears some similarities to a personal relationship but I believe the singular difference that separates them both is the more substantial lack of forgiveness in a business relationship. You either satisfy a client or you don't. I don't believe there is ever any in-between.

Most likely first sending messages to their trusted clients to acquire projects and earnings. Possibly then advertising on whatever media a company/freelancer may use to announce specials and discounts. It is not difficult to advertise such offers but time consuming. Just communicate 100% to your customers and clients that the rebranding is an improvement, an advancement, development and growth of the company. There are numerous examples throughout corporate history of companies who have successfully rebranded themselves to update and modernize and you shouldn't feel any trepidation in doing so yourself. However, think through the exact nature of the rebranding because it can usually only be done once and you certainly don't want to rebrand over and over until it's done right.
