She began her career working in her family's jewelry business, where she developed a deep knowledge of the design and manufacturing of fine jewelry. She then honed her skills studying design at Fashion Institute of Technology with leading designers from companies such as Tiffany and Bulgari, after which she became a certified gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America.

In 1990, Leslie Berman opened up her own business with the mission of delivering the highest level of craftsmanship, quality and design to her clients.
