Why did I start Time Off Your Hands Bookkeeping? I've worked for New York State for almost 20 years and hope to retire soon, and I want to do something new,. Why bookkeeping? It's something I can do anywhere and on my own schedule. I’m very good with math and software - although QuickBooks and Xero will do most of the math for me - and I like to solve problems. Also, it’s a chance to provide genuine help to small, possibly struggling businesses and people, and a way to get to know all kinds of people.
