About Us

OnTrack was established in 2000, serving individuals, groups and small businesses both locally and throughout the East Coast. Coaching provides an opportunity to focus on what matters most, create a plan for making desired changes and the accountability to get things done. For some it is simply a chance to step back and have a sounding board outside of one's business or family to keep priorities straight, stay motivated and address daily issues.

We start with a simple phone call, followed if you are interested with a one-time Discovery Session. If there's a good fit, we then decide what structure will work best for you, your business or your family. Feel free to email marilynedelson@gmail.com if you have questions.

Most entrepreneurs I've coached (including some million dollar concerns) get into trouble by not tracking money in/ money out well.  I encourage them to focus on receivables and to always maintain control of the checkbook. My one personal issue with money in my business came early on when I trusted a bookkeeper/ assistant with the checkbook and ended up short.  As for personal finances, it depends on your stage in life. Years ago, as a single mom with 2 girls to put through college and no help from their dad who was ill, times were lean even though I was working my head off. I did have a plan to catch up and everything worked out just fine. My daughters never did a semester abroad which I am sorry for but they don't seem to resent it at all and have done their share of traveling since.

And for clients’ businesses:  - Know where you want to go - how big ( or small ), employees or not, the market you want to serve - Know yourself - your strengths and weaknesses. Delegate what you’re not great at or don’t enjoy - Know your values. Create mission and vision statements ( I love Ben & Jerry’s which you can find on their website ). That will help you focus - Expect that your business may look very different in a few years ( BTW, I thought most businesses don’t make it pass year 3 ). Be flexible and ready to change with the times. - Think about an exit plan. You don’t have to decide immediately but be aware of options.  (  Not every business gets bought out and many family biz owners get let down when their children don’t anything to do anything with the business.
