Great question but one I would also go to UW for and they would be Canadian Insurance rules NOT US. My personal opinion is that it would pay out even with no notification and there would be status change paperwork completed, but don't quote me.

Hmmm...depends on your definition of effective. Not sure it will create sales but it keeps your name out there and gives you exposure I guess.
