Ed's Business is very special. When someone needs or wants something we hunt for it saving them time and energy. Ed knows ALOT of antique dealers and people in general and we will match the buyer and seller directly or sometimes Ed will make a road trip and pick it up along the way for the person. With Ed's wit, quirkiness and mostly charm, he really is a delight to deal with. Just about everyone's first time in Ed's Antiques and Uniques Store they turn and tell me they will be back. The service is personal and honest. I'll usually tell a few stories of some items we have ... history or what it is, maybe what it does or how our Silver Lady Mannequin got mascotnapped and the phone call Ed got the next morning after posting an ad on Ki.jiji and Marketplac.e offering a $50 reward "no questions asked" from someone who knew where the napper was and who it was. It was at the callers house. YES it was him that took it the guy who took the mannequin got the reward money.
So very calmly Ed asked if he could pick it up in 5 minutes then he said ok I'll be there. He hung up and left for our mannequin.. Her job is when people see her outside is they know we are open. She became a very important part of the business. When Ed got back he said he got out of the van and the guy asked if Ed had his $50 and Ed said yes. They exchanged the money (no questions asked) and The Silver Lady. What a gentleman Ed is; and as good as his manners are that's how good and special and unique his store is.
You never know what you'll find...I never know what I'll walk into and find when I go to work...true story a human skeleton which freaked me out until I got close enough to see it was a super realistic educational one with unbelievable realistic bones. I was quick to think it was real because 2 days before I heard someone may be selling one.
Ed's Antiques and Uniques is also special and unique because these antiques have stories. Some are of lifetimes ago and some are recent. As of writing this profile we have a portable multiple drawer dentistry kit with old horrible looking devices and a full MOLAR TOOTH.
I can't make this stuff up. Stories. We have stories. Come in sometime and One of us may have the time for a story. Maybe not your first time in but when you come back if we have time we will either make you laugh or walk out very curious.
Ed and I would like you to drop by and see some beautiful;
some weird
some collectable
some creepy
some antique and some unique things.
The past tends to be a forgetful thing; let's remember by stepping back into it even if only for a little while because that's all it takes to learn.
Special and unique? Yes.
Peace,
