I have to agree with the other two responses. It is a horrendous practice to engage in cash transactions in the "normal" course of business. You have no documentation of expenses. It is a horrendous practice to engage in cash transactions in the "normal" course of business. You have no documentation of expenses. BTW, you can in fact pay someone in cash and then issue a 1099. The ONLY reason for one to not issue a 1099 is tax evasion,possible combined with serious immigration issues. Not avoidance, which is legal, but evasion which is not. Remember that failure to issue a 1099 to any non-corporate provider to whom you paid $600 or more in the calendar year is subject to IRS penalties, and could (should) lead to possible criminal investigation.
