MRD Landscape and Lawn Care (MRD) is a full service landscape company located in Rhode Island. Since 2005, we've been providing quality, individualized services to our customers with expertise in all areas of landscaping.
How We Got Started
We started the company as a part time basis in 2000 as a way to earn extra money to support my growing family. As time went on ,and our customer base started to grow, I decided to quite my full time job as an engineer and to put my entire focus on growing MRD Landscaping Inc. We have been full time since 2005, and to this day , we continue to still grow and add new employees.

I still use business cards. I have them in all of my trucks. I also have my trucks lettered with my company name and phone number.
We use both of them. The truck is a rolling advertisement board.

Hi Raymond. 1st thing is you need to know what your overhead cost is for running your business. Two is you need to charge for your time . We usually charge $50.00 per man for how many hours you will think it will take you. Some jobs we have a flat fee on, other require more work. Other you have...

Hi Raymond. 1st thing is you need to know what your overhead cost is for running your business. Two is you need to charge for your time . We usually charge $50.00 per man for how many hours you will think it will take you. Some jobs we have a flat fee on, other require more work. Other you have to take into consideration site access, and the equipment you will need . Every piece of equipment has a labor charge on it. We give an estimate and usually require a deposit of 1/2 the amount. Customer must also sign the estimate. no check, no signature, no work and move on to the next job. When the job is completed, payment in full on completion of the job. No matter what size it is. Always make sure the customer if fully satisified when finishing up any project.

Matt From MRD Landscaping. In my experience and doing this type of work for over 15 years is that we measure everything buy sq ft. I estimate $75.00 per man in the job. We bill out for every service. We track every job from Lawn Maintenance to Hardscaping. We monitor all hours on every single job. If we bid a job for 10 hours, I will add on 5 hours to cover any additional expenses that might arrive that were unexpected. Also, our estimates will also include that any additional expenses that were not on the original estimate will be billed on the final invoice. This way we don't lose any money on any job.
