The Shed also partners with manufacturers, retailers and entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses with a no-cost rental channel. Consumers may also store their rental gear at The Shed for free and earn rental revenue. Products are insured and still owned by the consumer -- The Shed will deliver those items back when the owner need to use them.

It all started in 2012 when Karen Rodgers O’Neil, The Shed co-founder, felt the constant drumbeat of friends and neighbors planning graduation and family parties and asking, “Who has a tent I can borrow? How many folding chairs do you have?". Karen knew there had to be a better way and partnered with Daniel Perrone, a successful technology entrepreneur, to bring The Shed to life. Now renting is high style, the sharing economy is expected to grow to $335 billion by 2025, and the Shed is on a path to make history.
